There's no way around it: as much as we want to make our lives more "sustainable" - less impactful on our environment, less wasteful, less dependent on and destructive of both suffering human communities and Earth's precious nature - there are limits to what each of us can do. Sometimes it helps to share stories and laugh about how ridiculously difficult it can be! The point is, we each do what we can, and together we push the boundaries, bit by bit. Others learn from us, sometimes without even realizing it. We are making the difference.

Legacy Of Luna

Educators addressing issues of peace, social justice and environmental stewardship with their students have a new tool at their disposal. Circle of Life is pleased to offer A Multidisciplinary Approach to Teaching The Legacy of Luna, available to all teachers and educators free of charge.

Over the past several years, countless educators have used The Legacy of Luna to help students develop a personal connection to activism, the environment and their own paths of learning. Created with the guidance of seasoned teachers, A Multidisciplinary Approach to The Legacy of Luna teaches to various learning styles and uses cooperative learning principles to advance teamwork and shared learning among students. These materials also include age-appropriate lessons that use creative expression to teach math, language arts, science, and social studies.

Also included in these materials are:

• Hands-on activities broken down by grade level: K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12
• Resources on environmental education, non-toxic art supplies, and forest protection
• Background information on Julia Butterfly Hill and Circle of Life
• Facts and figures on environmental issues
